GLAY – survival (PV) Sunday, May 18 2008

Animation by Studio 4°C

For a Japanese PV, it’s amazingly easy to understand even if it’s still kinda abstract.

I want 5 inch heels (with platforms, of course, because I have small, inflexible feet) Saturday, Mar 22 2008

Why? Because they’re funky. Flat stuff are boring. Even though it’s hell in to walk in, I guess it’s kind of fun to walk funny in funny looking things. Becuase I’m bored like that.

Greed To go with all the cynicism that’s going to occur. Please don’t take this seriously. Becuase I don’t. This thing I drew, I mean.

And just because nilyave brought it up…here I go with the translation of mushi’s lyrics:

I can’t open myself up to anyone I can’t believe in anyone at all
and I can’t see anything the light that shines is disappearing, soon it will be gone
unable to open myself up this is my weakness, my past
I can get what I want, yet if I do, the kindness I’m holding onto will slip away
the typical answer is when you die, you’ll be reborn, come back again

my heart is shattered, soon it will break apart
stifling my tears, I laugh day after day
my heart has shown me that believing is nothing
those hypocrites killed me
my heart is shattered, soon it will crumble away
stiffling my tears, I scream day after day
my heart has left me with a belief in strength
my own heart killed me

It’s an amazing song. Kyo sounds like his heart’s really breaking when sings it. And Kaoru’s guitar…eargasm. By the way, with the way I am, I never really intend on drawing on whatever I draw. See, subconciousness. Surrealism.

I shall comment on Ayu’s latest PV for ‘Mirrorcle World’ another time. Yes, pun. Get used to it. It’s a cool song. The PV…you either hate it or love it. I love it…except for some really badly done parts. How could she let such weird editing slide?! Anyway, now I’m listening to Namie quite a lot. She’s got great songs too. I’m not feeling emo enough to be able to appreciate Kiyoharu or Diru or X Japan or Elliott Smith or even Ayu. Appreciate as in being able to take in the intensity of the song.

People should learn how to appreciate meaningless but not brainless lyrics and songs. And stop fawning over boring songs with mushy lyrics. No, not romantic, mushy. Just plain m~u~s~h~y.

Recently I’ve been into techno…ah…what the hell. Ok.

First, I liked classical music. I don’t know how young I was, but I was definitely still in the single digit range. I still listen to 92.4 before I fall asleep.

Second, it was catchy pop. Yea, I could, and still can, appreciate some Britney Spears. Fwahaha. That was also when I was in single digit. Oh, and add the ballads in too, like that Titanic song.

Third was pop/rock…or something like that. Michelle Branch and blah. I still had only like…3 cds back then? I was in upper primary already.

Next came in the rockish stuff. First, Evanesence (exactly what are they classified under?). I never liked the punk rock of today. Simple Plan be damned!

Then enter the Jmusic that was like, ‘Woah yeah! This is the S**T!’. Lots of VKei, X Japan, Diru…as well as lots of Jpop like DAI and BoA and…that was years ago. I used to listen to more Jpop, but now I only listen to the 3 queens. Namely, Utada, Namie, and Ayumi. Diru introduced me to the world of metal. They’re not technically metal, but man, they’re heavy. X was all that old school stuff. Long live X! (this was when my interest in music sparked) Ayu, Diru, and X Japan sparked the whole lyrics, emotional lives thing. Kiyoharu’s melancholy is…on a supreme level of its own.

Next was acoustic. But it was more like…unplugged/remixed versions of some hardcore songs. Am not a big fan of really soft stuff now.

Then it was the oldies rock n roll. The Doors, Beatles, Neil Young, Led Zep, QUEEN. I never liked anything folk or country till I knew Bob Dylan. I first saw his name in Kinky Friedman’s book. Grunge was there too. Need I mention names?

The hamster introduced me to rap and hip-hop. I used to never be able to appreciate rap, but yea, Eminem’s really it. I hardly listen to this genre though.

Now there’s electronic…like Daft Punk. Yea, well, don’t blame me for liking all the popular guys. I mean, they’re not popular for nothing. Daft Punk’s acutally house…not techno. Crap, I’m new to this. But this will probably fall under the same listening frequency as rap.

Lessee…I kinda like swing jazz, being in band and all. I doze off uwillingly to lounge-y stuff, and I only listen to newage when I’m in some gift store. RnB bores my ears but I can still bob to it…hmm…ah well, that’s all I can think of. Long, pointless thing. Supposedly pointless. Supposedly.

“I will sing without you~~” (Toshi’s got a mad voice)
