Old Juliana. I just found out that Juliana mean ‘youth’, ‘joy’ etc. Regarding where this came from in the first place…it was purely thoughtless. I was doing my usual nonsensical writing when I felt like putting in ‘old’, and a noun had to follow that. Tada, Juliana. And it sounded like a band name. Pretty cool. Juliana sounds kinda girly, but more feminine than cutesy, and old balanced it out, like…grunge romantic? Or just old school wannabe.
Youth that is advanced in age…?
Oh, yea, that photo is there for the heck of it. I took it during the bus ride to VCH for the band’s 10th annual concert. Yeah, old shot from sec 2, but I love it even until now. I really have a thing for cities. CBD, you know. Say it wasn’t really an ideal shot, with raindrops and all, but what makes me so proud of it is the composition. I even used it for my handphone’s wallpaper for a year or so. Yes, taken with my trusty old phone that survived a one storey drop. The tall buildings clustered on one side, the short ones covering the other, the tiny cranes (or whatever they are) in between, the lamp posts spread out along the road, the uncluttered traffic, the simple cars, especially the one nearest to the viewer (makes me feel like it’s some sort of a movie and that I’m following it) and even the gloomy sky. City life, the rush that’s not there, yet. A lucky shot on a turning vehicle. I rather put these kind of stuff up than that pretty little flower I shot in NZ. It was one of those types that had a very clear subject at the foreground with a blurred background. Looks nearly professional. Yea, me being egoistic and not sorry about it.
I might be drawing something soon ^( ^-^)> We love smileys.
